Cooperation with Media
Agencies charged with protecting the public from sex offenders (i.e., probation, parole, law enforcement, treatment providers) should make the effort to cooperate with the news media. The media should be given the opportunity to be involved in the appropriate release of information. If this is accomplished, the media can be a positive resource in the notification process.
