Note: Allow time for introductions to set a tone for the training that encourages participation and interaction. This is an opportunity for the trainer to get a sense of the group's levels of knowledge and experience. Introductions in large groups can be made around individual training tables. Introductions of all participants would be appropriate in small groups.

- Identify the rationale for a specialized approach to the supervision of sex offenders in the community;
- Articulate the goals and learning objectives of this training curriculum and outline its content;
- Summarize the state of knowledge regarding sex offenders and their victims; and
- Identify the core elements of sex offender supervision
approaches emerging around the nation.
