The American Probation and Parole Association (APPA)
The American Probation and Parole Association (APPA) is an international association composed of individuals from the United States and Canada actively involved with adult and juvenile probation, parole, and community-based corrections. Among APPA's services and resources are:
- An Information Clearinghouse. APPA provides a clearinghouse of information on topics related to probation, parole, and community-based corrections to its members.
- Publications. APPA has published a number of monographs on community-based corrections issues and produces a variety of research documents as resources for its membership.
- Publication of a Professional Journal. APPA publishes a professional journal, Perspectives, which contains articles on the latest field research, evaluations of innovative programs, and supervision strategies in the areas of probation, parole, and community-based corrections.
- Annual Training Events. APPA provides national training workshops, symposia, and training institutes throughout the calendar year.
